Amy Walton | Founder and Director
Amy Walton, Founder and Director of AW Social Value Consultancy, brings both professional expertise and lived experience to the delivery of social value in defence and public sector environments.
With 25 years as a military spouse, a husband who has served in the Royal Marines for 37 years, and a daughter now beginning her career in the Royal Navy, Amy’s life has been shaped by the Armed Forces community. This lived experience underpins the consultancy’s commitment to supporting service personnel, veterans, families, and disadvantaged groups through meaningful, measurable social value.

Her career has taken her from frontline customer service and sales into a Level 4 qualified Careers Adviser supporting post 14 young adults Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET), offenders, ex‑offenders and adults furthest from the labour market, before moving into specialist Special Educational Needs and Disabilities leadership and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion roles across education and local government.
She has delivered workforce development, employer engagement and community‑focused projects, including high‑impact events such as the Neurodiversity and Disabilities in Business event at AFC Bournemouth, Armed Forces and Dementia at Bournemouth University and lived‑experience‑led work with the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) to improve access for young adults facing barriers to employment.
Most recently, she led on Skills within Economic Development at Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council, working with employers, providers and partners to strengthen local pathways and inclusion. This blend of professional expertise and lived experience now underpins AW Social Value Consultancy, helping organisations design practical, evidence‑based social value that genuinely improves opportunities for people and communities.

"My career path may have taken a few unexpected turns, but every step has been shaped by learning from others and that’s what drives me. I’m at my best when I’m helping people grow: building confidence, developing skills, and creating community projects that deliver real, measurable impact. I believe in collaboration, honesty, and progress through genuine connection. When we show up, listen to each other, build trust and work with purpose, we can harmonise and achieve incredible things together".

Much love, Amy 💚
